Claudia Calle is an eclectic artist who designs and photographs by instinct, with a deep passion for traveling and capturing the lifestyle of the places she visits. The artist – who enjoys experimenting with photography, painting and mixing elements over non – conventional materials like wood, metal and leather – had an amazing closing in 2009. Winning two honorific mentions in the International Photography Awards and selling almost her complete solo show during Miami’s Art Basel Season, she has become the new darling for Miami’s collectors.
Claudia is excited about the positive direction her career is taking and is ready to embrace all the opportunities to showcase her art and share her message with a wider public. In her own words, “…art is an indispensable part of my life; it helps me find the answers to my internal questions. Through the creative process something wonderful happens; my mind, eyes, hands and spirit align and without premeditation, in a magical second, I capture the essence of the people and things that are in front of me. My work is the result of the fusion between spontaneity and a conscientious study of the socio – cultural phenomenon that I perceived at my surroundings.”
